According to a 2007 study by the Child & Family Research Institute:
"When there’s too much sugar in the diet, the liver converts it to lipid. ...the increased production of lipid shut down a gene called SHBG (sex hormone binding globulin)...". Again, I'm no doctor - but anything that shuts down any sex hormones is not. a. good. thang! To read the entire study (about half a page long) click here. Interesting stuff!

An interesting observation I had a couple summers ago: went to stay at a country home of a colleague where they had sugar water hummingbird feeders. The hummingbirds were aggressive & territorial: diving at each other to get at the feeders. At my family's country home we have honey suckle bushes where we watch the hummingbirds flit from flower to flower alongside each other showing no signs of aggression. Something to think about.
Hmmm, Now ... if I can find a nice, delicious chocolate I'd have NO problem kicking that evil refined sugar habit:

Hello,
Sugar does a number on the body because it is in anything, and certain foods in combination converts into glucose in the body.
Great book I read was Sugar Busters were the idea was to eliminate it from your diet and push protien instead, lost a lot of weight on that.
