Making Love or Fucking

A couple of days ago, I posted a poll and a tangent conversation began in the comments on the difference between making love and fucking. Nicki Nicki Tembo suggested, "fucking and making love is like the square/rectangle analogy. A square being a rectangle but a rectangle isn't a square. Making love is fucking but all fucking ain't making love." This is a good answer; it required me to think and I agree with it to an extent.

They are the same physically -- using the strictest definition of heterosexual co-mingling -- dick + pussy = sex, making love, fucking, banging, hittin' it, layin' da pipe, etc. Thus, if they are the same physically, then the difference is either mental or emotional. Ergo, whatever our perceptions of ourselves, our partner or our relationship at the time of the deed allows us to determine whether we are making love or fucking.
